For two of our three nights, we were left in the cold without hot water because the heating system had broken, and our child was only 10. They offered half a refund instead of arranging alternative accommodation at their expense. After several long conversations and days of insisting at reception, we finally got a room on the last night, but it was a double for the three of us, so one bed was missing.

The two good things were a comfortable bed and a shower with strong, hot water. The room itself was disappointing: the walls badly needed painting, the curtains were dirty, and the only chair was so disgusting I wouldn't sit on it. I couldn't air the room while I was out because the windows wouldn't open, and the Wi-Fi was crap. The hallways smelled like old cabbage. At check-in, I was told I'd 'selected' a room outside the 'boutique' hotel. It was at the very back, not even on the same street, up a high third floor with no elevator. That felt close to false representation. I'm usually easygoing about accommodation and know you get what you pay for, but this was at the very low end. The area was lively and near metro stations and the main train station, which is why I'm giving it two stars.

I checked out today from room 214, and everything was great. The room was clean and had natural light, which I love. The bathroom and toilet were quite adequate, and there was a coffee and tea maker in the room. Downstairs is a perfect place for breakfast, eating, and drinking. The staff and managers were friendly, and the hotel is close to the train station and other transport. I'd definitely stay there again if I choose a hotel.

The a la carte breakfast is a great way to reduce food waste. You can order whatever you like, and the portions are huge. The room was clean and had everything I needed, plus an espresso machine. The staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel is close to the central station, in a lovely area full of cafes, restaurants, and bars.
