Living Hotel an der Oper

We were so happy with our stay. It made an ideal base for exploring Vienna, with a great location and staff. The apartment has many hotel amenities, so it felt like a really good mix. We’d recommend it without hesitation.

The room rate included the minibar, though I do wish breakfast had been part of the price too. The rooms were comfortable, and the bathrooms were especially spacious compared with the smaller ones you often find in European hotels. The hotel is well placed for major attractions, and the staff were helpful when we asked about local places to visit. I’d recommend staying here.

The location near the opera is great, and the shower was warm, but those were the only things I liked. Our room was small, with a small bed, awful pillows and a short bedspread. There was dust everywhere, and the old carpet looked like it had been there since my grandma's time. The room was cold because the heating wasn't working in November. We paid 220€ a night and couldn't wait to leave in the morning. We didn't even have breakfast. I don't understand how this hotel gets such good reviews. I booked from the road without paying much attention to them, so read them carefully before booking. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

The location worked really well: it was quiet but close to transit and lots of sights, with a Spar Gourmet right across the street. We appreciated the lobby seating and free fresh coffee and chilled sparkling water, and the front desk staff were friendly and quick to help. Room 407, the executive apartment?, could use a redesign. There was no USB or power outlet at the desk, and the kitchen bench cushions were stained. The dining table and chairs in the living room were basic. The couch was comfortable, but there wasn't a reading lamp nearby. In the bedroom, there was nowhere to put luggage or sit down. The bathroom and shower felt cramped, though the separate toilet room didn't. It's a large space, but it felt short on personality, warmth and convenience.
