Max Brown Hotel 5th District, part of Sircle Collection

The location is convenient, about five minutes from the local metro station. The nearby bars and restaurants were good, and the 20-minute walk to Vienna centre goes via Nachmarkt, with plenty of good bars and food outlets as well as a fresh food market. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice for different needs, served from 6.30am-10am. The rooms were as described, spacious and comfortable, with lovely amenities. The gym is small but has enough equipment for a good workout. I was there for six days and was the only person I saw in it, from 9am-10pm. Same with the sauna, where amenities are provided. Five stars all the way!

We stayed eight nights, and the breakfast selection was always the same, including the cold meats and everything else. A little variety would have helped. Otherwise, breakfast was plentiful and tasty, and the staff were very friendly. The atmosphere was lovely, and choosing a large room got us a spacious, comfortable one. The hotel is about five minutes from the U-Bahn Station, or you can walk into town in 25 minutes.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the pool table was a nice touch. We were first given a tiny, cramped room despite having booked a large one, but they kindly moved us to a more spacious room the next day when we asked. The second room had comfortable bedding and a fabulous walk-in rain shower with a view over Vienna's rooftops. There were no coffee facilities. I’d much rather have a coffee maker than the barely functional Crosley record player. Wine glasses and a bottle opener would be useful too. The neighborhood is lovely and well connected by public transport, though it’s a bit far to walk to the Hauptbahnhof.

The location was perfect, around a 20-minute walk or 15 minutes by bus to the center. Our rooms were very clean, neat and nice. The staff were pleasant and even upgraded us from a medium to a large room for free because we had a toddler. They also offered us coffee for free even though we weren’t staying for breakfast. I recommend this hotel.
