The concierge was consistently helpful, and the basement laundry room was a nice convenience. Our apartment was spacious, right by the canal, and a great price. It had a huge bed, an excellent shower, and a nearly full-size fridge and freezer, along with a dishwasher, stove, oven, and Nespresso machine. We did have some Wi-Fi trouble, though that seems to happen everywhere.

The apartment itself was a great fit for us and was clean, but we had a few frustrating issues. I’d told you ahead of time that I was bringing a toddler and was told the concierge would gladly help with the steps. Nobody offered assistance. The desk was meant to be staffed from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, but we only saw the concierge in the mornings and never after noon, which made it difficult to ask for anything. The cleaners kept taking the baby towel, so we had to ask the concierge for an extra one every day, or we’d be left with only two towels. We also had to request basic refills like coffee pods and a dishwasher tablet. It felt as though the cleaning team tidied the room without checking what had run out.

The roof terrace was fantastic. We watched the sun set over the rooftops and mountains, and the riverside views were spectacular. The apartment was spacious, spotless, and well equipped, and the staff were friendly. The subway is just across the street, or you can take a very pleasant 20-minute walk to the old town. Highly recommended.

The courtyard-facing room I moved to was much quieter and a lot better, aside from hearing my upstairs neighbors' feet pounding. Changing rooms cost me an extra €45 per night. My first room looked out onto the street and train station. The double-pane windows helped with the constant noise, but unusually warm weather made the room unbearably hot. The climate controls didn't cool it down, so opening the windows brought all the noise back and made it nearly impossible to sleep. On my fourth evening I asked for more coffee pods and was charged. Guests get six complimentary pods whether they stay one night or four, then have to pay for more. It’s a petty policy, even if it’s not a huge deal. Little things can separate a great stay from an merely satisfactory one. Unless that changes, I’ll probably stay somewhere else next time.
