I could hear water dripping behind the locked doors in my room at night, and it kept me awake both nights. In the morning I was told everything had been checked and was fine, but nothing was fixed. Honestly, it felt like torture. The location is good, which makes it a shame that the hotel quality doesn't match it. The entrance, stairs, corridors, and elevator all felt like stepping back into the early 2000s, and the hotel itself was in poor condition.

After we left, Booking.com canceled the reservation and refunded us within 10 minutes. That made me think the receptionist hadn't really called them, despite saying he had, and might have been trying to fool us. The customer service was very disrespectful. We'd booked and paid through Booking.com, but when we arrived the receptionist said he couldn't find our reservation, perhaps because of a double booking, and that they were full with no room for us. He said he'd called Booking.com to confirm it and would refund us. Then he suddenly found a spare room and tried to get us to cancel through Booking.com and pay at the front desk. It made me think this could be a scam to bypass Booking.com and take the money directly. When we refused and asked him to cancel the Booking.com reservation so we could get our money back, he kept putting it off, taking other guests and making us wait, then saying he needed a colleague to cancel it. He also refused to give us confirmation that the double booking was the hotel's fault, and asked why we didn't trust him. He was condescending and disrespectful, even though the problem was with the hotel. I didn't get his name, but he was young, with mid-parted brunette hair. Avoid them.

The reception staff were friendly, and the apartment was spotless, spacious, and had the amenities we needed. It’s about a 30-minute walk or 10-minute drive from the main train station, and a 10-minute walk from the city center. We had a nice stay, though there was building work and the noise began at 9am on Saturday. The shared areas were rough around the edges and looked unfinished. Still, don't let that put you off.

The room was beautiful, and the service was incredible. A young woman with glasses on staff gave us a warm welcome and was kind and attentive throughout. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you!
