Pension Lehrerhaus

The staff were lovely, and I had a comfortable bed and a private bathroom. They even gave me a little Christmas gift, which was a nice touch. I booked at the last minute for a quick weekend trip to see the Christmas markets and didn’t expect much, but I was impressed. The location was great for walking everywhere I wanted to go, and the rooms look just like the pictures.

My room didn’t have its own bathroom, but there was one on the same floor. Since the floor was empty, it felt as though I had it to myself. The room was very clean and had all the essentials. Reception staff were attentive, and communication was smooth whenever I needed help. The central location is excellent. Restaurants, cafes, bars, and major attractions are all within walking distance. It was a very pleasant stay.

Getting around was easy, whether on foot or by tram, and supermarkets and pharmacies were even closer, just down the street. This was an amazing deal in the heart of Vienna. The hotel is a lovely old building with an old-fashioned grilled elevator, in a nice neighborhood. The friendly staff and the hotel itself were a pleasure to come back to. I had a single room with an ensuite bathroom. In my case, the enclosed shower was outside the bathroom, on tiled flooring beside the bed, so I had to watch for splashing when I got out. I was initially surprised that one key opens both the shared hallway and the individual room, but I learned the keys are different enough that this doesn’t create a security risk. A really great experience, and I hope to return someday!

The shower area was open directly into the room, with no wall or separation and an open top, so all the humidity stays in the room. That setup could lead to mold, or it may already have. The heater was extremely dirty, and the mobile heater they left for me was dirty too, partly broken, and in bad condition. Never again.
