Aparthotel Rothensteiner

I liked the building's charm and how spacious it feels inside, and the location is great. The room had a couple of maintenance problems, though: the shower head holder was coming loose from the wall. We were also expecting one double bed, but found two singles pushed together, which wasn't ideal.

We really enjoyed our two nights here. The room had lovely furniture, a beautiful desk, and a small kitchen, and the whole hotel is decorated with real character. It's family-owned and has been passed down over time, so much of the decor reflects the family. Check-in was self-service through a key machine in the entrance, but staff were there when needed. We lost our key on the second day and got back late; they quickly let us in and made a replacement, all while staying very kind.

The rooms are big and convenient, and the price was low for what you get. The hotel feels like a museum, decorated as if it belongs to a hundred years ago, and the same family has owned it since the 19th century. The owners were generous and helpful, and even gave me a lovely old item for my collection. Neubau is a great location, with a supermarket, restaurants, and bars nearby, and it felt very safe. Check that everything in the room works when you arrive. If something doesn't, they'll sort it quickly.

We had a great stay in mid-May with our family of four. The room was huge, with a double bed in the bedroom and two singles in the living room. The bathroom was large and very clean. Getting a bus to the museum district and old town was easy, and we'd definitely stay here again.
