Somerset Schönbrunn Vienna

The rooms are clean and spacious, but I strongly advise against staying here because of the location. There's a nightclub directly below, and its heavy bass, building vibrations and noisy, rowdy clubgoers continue all night. You can feel the music through the building, and earplugs don't help. It's not a good spot if you need a proper night's sleep.

We had a lovely stay, with spacious rooms and a good bed. There was a fridge and stove, and the excellent local bakery down the road was Balkan bakery. The nearby pizza place had mid-level service, so beware. Vienna's transport is excellent and stops right outside the hotel. I'd stay again.

The rooms are generously sized, and the hotel has a nice playroom for children. Staff were friendly and helpful. It's a solid choice for families, with good facilities including a coffee machine, kettle and basic cooking utensils. The location is decent, though a street-facing room can get a little noisy at night. Parking is available, but costs 39 EUR a day. About 10 minutes away, P+R on Perfektstrasse is much cheaper at 4,4 EUR per day.

The apartment was clean when we arrived and very spacious, and there was a baby bed. The breakfast restaurant was well maintained, with good food and breakfast, and the staff there were great. Tram and bus stops are right outside the hotel. We recommend the apartment, but would only return if the other issues were addressed. During our three days and nights, nobody came to clean the room. Towels and other supplies were on the first floor as self-service, something we hadn't seen in the description when booking. At check-in we got little information, so we had to return to reception to ask where to take the rubbish and how to get more coffee, which you have to pay for, as is normal. The apartment stayed at 26-27 degrees, and we couldn't find a control to turn it down. The inside corridor also needed cleaning and hadn't been cleaned over those days. We couldn't check in before 15:00. We understand the procedure, but had told them we were travelling with a 5-month-old and hoped to check in around 13:00; that couldn't be arranged.
