Inside, the bedding was dirty and left us feeling itchy, the tables were broken and unclean, and there was only one chair and one clothes hanger. There was no bin, bin bags, or safe for valuables. The bathroom was poorly fitted, and water leaked onto the floor because of the construction and shower curtain. We got just two towels, so we couldn’t use them to clean up spills. The hot water cut out during a shower, leaving my partner without a proper wash after a long travel day. The rooms looked nothing like the advert: poor design and cleaning, dust on the floor, a window that wouldn’t close properly, no balcony or terrace, and no Wi-Fi despite a link sent before our stay saying we had it. The entrance was extremely dirty and dangerous, with exposed live wires and a wooden contraption hanging from the ceiling. A fridge blocked the corridor, a major fire risk. Smoke smell came in through corridor windows that were always open and couldn’t be shut. The street entrance lock didn’t work, nor did the door into the apartment, and the building door was left wide open. We felt unsafe.

The room was fairly clean, but the building itself should be condemned. Ventilation was so poor that there was black mold in the bathroom, and likely elsewhere, though I didn’t stay long enough to check. The room doors don’t lock, and as a woman I wouldn’t stay here alone. I booked through hotels.com, and there was no Wi-Fi despite it being advertised.

The room smelled of damp laundry or water damage, and the hallway was dirty and smelly. There was no bathroom ventilation. The shower was clogged, and the water swung from scalding to freezing. I burned myself several times. The fan was dirty, the washing machine kept running, and the windows barely shut and couldn’t be tilted. There was no internet, mirror, hairdryer, soap, bath mat, or towel rack. The bed was damaged, the walls dirty, and the room much too small for two people, with no room for suitcases. The fridge and stove couldn’t be used at the same time, and excessive electricity use meant a fine. An absolute disgrace, run-down and full of defects. This felt like a complete scam. Never again!
