The price is extremely high, and there were plenty of issues, including WiFi and hot water. Still, I really enjoyed living here over the past year.

The dorm looks stylish and has new furnishings, but basic services keep failing. Hot water has often been unavailable lately, and the WiFi is very unreliable. We had no internet at all for two full days because the provider wouldn’t send anyone over the holidays. The dorm company chose a cheaper contract even after being clearly warned it wouldn’t cover essential support. WiFi and hot water are basic necessities, even in the cheapest dorms. It’s unacceptable for them to be unreliable at one of Vienna’s most expensive student residences. The residence manager’s response is even more troubling than the service failures. He regularly laughs off reports of broken heating, bad internet, and safety concerns. Residents reported aggressive knocking at doors and someone’s peephole being half-unscrewed from outside. He joked about it and said the investors wouldn’t pay to install cameras. That dismissive attitude leaves students feeling unheard and unsafe in a place they pay premium prices to live in.

There are only 5 washing machines and 5 dryers for 857(?) rooms, which is simply unacceptable. Internet is another problem: Milestone picked a cheap plan shared by two rooms instead of giving each room its own connection, clearly to cut costs. As a result, the internet in your room is practically unusable. There’s constant noise, too. The dorm faces a parking lot where events often take place. There was a circus in spring, then various music festivals, and construction on a nearby bank is due to start in August. The dorm isn’t entirely to blame, but I wouldn’t recommend living here if you get frequent migraines or are sensitive to noise. Cleaning is included in the rent, but it’s done very poorly. I might overlook that if the rent were reasonable. For what I pay for just 15 square meters, along with all these problems, it’s very disappointing. You do get a private room with your own bathroom and kitchen, but the downsides make it worth €700 a month at most. The pros don’t outweigh the cons, especially as rent keeps rising each season. Definitely not worth more than €700.

The place has a great atmosphere, with modern building design and rooms that are convenient, new, and stylish. It’s in a nice area, close to the city center, just 3 stations from Wien Mitte by subway, and near the Hauptbahnhof.
