Vienna Residence Hietzing-Schönbrunn

A gem of an apartment, with a terrace, bathtub, washing machine, lift, large TV, and strong, fast Wi-Fi. It’s near the U4 public transport, with trains every 5 minutes and a 20-minute ride to downtown.

Getting around Vienna was easy since the subway was so close, and the neighborhood was lovely. The apartment itself felt cozy, clean, and fairly new. The bathroom mirror seemed set at an odd distance, which made it awkward to use. I also couldn't get a reply when I contacted the team before arrival with a few questions, or later when I reported that the hair dryer wasn't working properly. I ended up cleaning its filter myself, which got it going again.

The rooms were really nicely designed, and the recycling and no-smoking rules seemed reasonable. A few things were already broken when we arrived, though the repair person came the next day and fixed the shower head after we reported it. Someone upstairs kept banging around a lot even though we weren't making noise.

The area was peaceful despite being next to a main road, and we could hear birds from the back balcony. Our family of four spent five days here. There was a bedroom with a double bed, plus a living room with an extendable sofa separated by a sliding door. It was clean and had what we needed for a holiday. Braunschweiggasse U-bahn is about a five-minute walk, and Schönbrunn garden, at the Zoo entrance, took us around 15-20 minutes on foot. A 24-hour gas station across the road sells basics, and there's a large Spar behind the opposite block. We were short sheets for the sofa bed, but staff sorted that out quickly. Their support number is +4313072222. They manage several Vienna apartments, so give them the address: Vienna Residence, Hietzing, Hietzinger Kai 75. Phone staff can be a bit unfriendly, as Austrians often are, even on the phone. For food nearby, you can walk to Italian places Marios and Da Ferdinando, or Austrian options Plachutta and Oberlaa. We couldn't get a table at Plachutta, but you might have better luck.
