voco Vienna Prater by IHG

The hotel is very clean and well cared for, even if the rooms aren't newly renovated. I had a decent breakfast, and the restaurant and bar onsite are excellent. There’s a fitness room, though no swimming pool. Prater is 2 km away and the city center about 4 km, with Vorgartenstraße U-Bahn (U1) just around the corner, so it's a short trip to Praterstern and the center. A dependable place to stay in Vienna, with superbly flexible service even after checkout. I’d recommend it.

I stayed two nights before a trip to Slovakia and another two after. Both rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is reasonably priced and gives you more than other places in the same range, so I'd happily come back. It's in a residential area, but the U1 and other public transport make getting around Vienna easy. Central Vienna is four quick stops away. There are grocery stores and plenty of fast food and snack places nearby. Neither room had a fridge, though.

Varin at reception was especially kind and helpful during our stay at Voco Hotel Vienna Prater. She helped us choose and book restaurants in Vienna, and was attentive and professional throughout. The other staff we met were friendly too, from check-in onward. Our room was spotless and lovely, with a comfortable bed, modern bathroom, and high-quality amenities. The hotel is also conveniently close to the U1, making the city center easy to reach. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it for both the facilities and service.

I left feeling really disappointed. We spent a couple of nights at Vocco and arrived to find the room carpet wet, with a strange smell, and an insect on the bed sheets. I was shocked and asked to change rooms. The receptionist offered us a smaller room instead of upgrading us. The staff are nice, but they only do the bare minimum to help. The buffet was below average. We were allowed just one tissue and one bottle of water, and there didn't seem to be a housekeeping team, just one cleaner who brought essentials only when asked. IHG, this doesn't feel like a four star hotel. Compared with your facilities and service, it's barely two stars, and it's hurting your brand. I hope you plan to improve things, because this isn't what I'd expect from a big brand. I didn't enjoy the stay at all.
