A lovely little hotel, very affordable and comfortable. The rooms are really small, and the bathroom is tiny, so bear that in mind. Bars and restaurants are just a five-minute walk away, and parking is great. Tina was so helpful and lovely with our wet bike gear, letting us dry it in their boiler room. Breakfast was very good, and I’d stay again if you’re okay with a small room.

The owners took our money. We effectively had to pay for our stay twice, and they never returned the money. Now they aren’t responding to our calls or emails. Avoid this place if you can. We paid for the stay in advance at the last minute by bank transfer. At checkout, they said the money hadn’t arrived from the bank yet, so we had to pay by card on the spot. The woman promised to return the bank transfer once it came through. That was the last we heard from them. The lack of communication is the worst part. They should seriously rethink how they treat customers. We’ll escalate the issue and file a lawsuit, since nothing else seems to be working.

They charge extra to charge bike batteries, without warning, but offer no discount if you don’t use the hair dryer. Charging one battery takes about as much as 15 minutes of hair drying. This is the only hotel I know of that charges extra for battery charging.

We spent a week at Eveline and Hans Schindlmaißer’s cozy hotel in the summer of 2015. The half-board package included free entry to the public swimming pool in Wagrain, which turned out to be a good deal. We’d walk the well-marked paths until the afternoon, cool off in the pool, then enjoy a three-course dinner. It’s very family and child friendly, and our children were offered alternative servings and other options.
