That apple strudel with hot vanilla sauce was the highlight for me. We’ve eaten at Alpengasthof Oberweissbach several times, and the food has always been delicious. Peter’s service is warm and attentive, and he makes sure every request is taken care of. My wife, with her high-tech orthosis, and I will definitely return.

We’ve come back for a second visit and already know we’ll return again. Peter, the waiter, is incredibly welcoming, and the food is outstanding for both quality and value. We highly recommend the Alpengasthaus.

We stopped to eat after a hike, without booking a room. The setting is beautiful, right out in nature, and the food was great. Peter, up at 1000 meters, makes sure guests feel comfortable. You can probably drive there, and summer should be fine, but in winter you may need winter tires or snow chains. There’s also the option of sledding back down.

The surroundings were lovely, but the service spoiled the visit for us. After hiking, my dog and I sat at one of the side tables, hoping to get something to eat. We were left waiting and seemed to be ignored before a server finally brought menus. Then they snapped at us and asked why we had picked the last table. We’d never been treated that way before, and it left us speechless. We decided to leave hungry and thirsty. Such a disappointment.

We were eventually given a table, but the meal was so bad that we wished we’d gone elsewhere. Even the kids, who were really hungry, wouldn’t finish their meals. We were greeted rudely and questioned about showing up without a reservation. The road up is much too narrow for the walk to be worth it. Eat at one of the other restaurants in Waidring instead.
