Berghotel Ronach

Waking up at 1600m to cowbells in the distance felt magical. The hotel itself is quiet and peaceful, with great rooms, room service, steady shower temperatures, several saunas and an indoor pool. There are lots of activities for children, plus a great hotel dog. It’s also close to places like krimmler wasserfall, Kaprun hintertux and more. Definitely a 5/5, I’d recommend it.

We found a room at the last minute with half board and were very happy with it. Our triple room had plenty of space for our small family, and the third bed was large and comfortable. It’s a family-run hotel that’s been hosting guests since 1898, and all the staff were warm and welcoming. After skiing, the pool, sauna and solarium were great, and there’s also a playroom for kids. The setting is a little secluded, 3km past Gerlos pass valley station, but the ski bus runs at convenient times. We liked the quieter spot, away from the hustle and noise. Breakfast was nice, while dinner was excellent. The soup, salad and appetizer came buffet style, with lots of tasty variety, especially in the appetizers. Main courses were modest in size but very well prepared and presented. We enjoyed fish, cordon bleu and beef short rib/flank steak. The desserts were perfect, from mango/pistachio panna cotta to nutella knödel and apple mousse, and the presentation was fun too. The food exceeded what we expected, and we’d happily return.

The food was delicious, and after hiking we really appreciated having the wellness area. We stayed for a week and were happy with everything: the beautiful location and cozy, clean rooms too. The owners, Christine and her sister, were always kind and helpful. They also prepared a separate meal for our vegan friend. Thanks for a lovely stay, we’d be glad to come back.

We had a lovely time at Hotel Ronach last week. Christine was a warm host and had a great team of friendly colleagues. The organized activities, including a rodel evening and a torchlit walk to a campfire site for glühwein, made it easy to get to know the other friendly guests. The après-ski bar was gemütlich and fun too. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay.
