Chaletdorf Fanningberg

I only tried the restaurant, not the accommodation. The food and coffee were okay, much like other nearby places, so nothing stood out. What really put me off was staff smoking on the covered terrace with the door left open. Cigarette smoke drifted through the whole interior while guests were there. It was disgusting to be made to breathe it. If you want to smoke, that's your choice, but don't make the guests breathe it too.

The estate is new and well located, but the management left a really bad impression. We were charged upfront at reception, which is in a separate building, then taken to an apartment with a wall right in front of the windows despite being advertised and charged for a panorama. When we went back to reception, nobody was there. By phone they said to discuss it the next day, but there was no follow-up. At the restaurant they pushed for cash even though they had a card terminal. It gave me the impression they wanted to avoid tax, without a receipt. Such a shame that the management felt so greedy and showed so little hospitality.

The apartments have nice furniture and are equipped well enough for four people. But when we arrived at 5:45 pm, nobody was there to meet us, even though we had told the hosts when we were coming. We had to carry our luggage up an icy, snowy path to the houses. For a place at this price, that didn't seem acceptable. When we left, our luggage was put down on wet, snowy ground.

We loved our stay at Chaletdorf Fanningberg. Such a great spot, and a great host too!
