The owners welcomed us warmly and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Haus Waldheim is in the quiet village of Werfenweng, surrounded by mountains and lush greenery, with a breathtaking setting. There’s a restaurant and grocery store nearby, and it’s around an hour’s drive from Hallstat and Salzburg. We’d highly recommend this place.
If you’d rather be surrounded by nature than city noise, this is a beautiful place to stay. We booked a two-bedroom apartment on the top floor, with lovely views from both the front and back. It was neat, clean, and had all the regular amenities. Markus dad greeted us with a smile and showed us to our rooms. He was helpful and spoke a little English to keep the conversation going. Werfenweng is a small village, 20 minutes from Bischshofen Train station. The free W3 shuttle can pick you up or drop you off there if you call about an hour before arrival. Salzburg is 40 min. away by train or car. In winter the village is a paradise for skiing lovers, and it has different shades through the seasons. MARKUS & CATHERINE handle the bookings and other details, and you can book through google or airbnb. Try local restaurant Chilli for the food, it’s good, and visit the Tourist info office for a stamp on your weng tickets for the free shuttle service.
I only stayed one night, but the place and scenery were amazing. With no light pollution at all, I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys looking at the stars :D
The view from here is awesome, and the living area was tidy, clean, and well kept. The hosts are extremely friendly and nice.
