Haus Veronika

We had a great room for the whole family, right in the center of town. The e-mountainbikes for rent were really good too. We’ll be back in winter.

The apartment was much bigger than the photos led us to expect, with a full set of equipment, comfortable beds, and a nice balcony. Haus Veronika is right in the village, about a five-minute walk from the chairlift, practice slope, restaurants, and après-ski, while the gondola takes around ten minutes on foot. Breakfast was superb, fresh every morning and plentiful, and the hotel and wine bar staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful. The wine bar is well worth a visit for its broad wine selection and delicious food. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Haus Veronika for a visit to Westendorf.

The location is the one good thing about this place, it’s excellent. The three-room apartment felt cramped and dated, the bathroom smelled musty, and the beds sagged. They weren’t changed, and nothing was done during the week, which is not what I’d expect for €4400. The balcony felt unsafe, and there was old junk. We also had cold shower water a few times. The manager wasn’t the helpful, friendly person others describe, but a gruff man who didn’t say a kind word or ask how our stay had been when we left. I don’t understand the positive reviews, because that wasn’t our experience. Never again.

A great few days skiing with friends, then relaxing in the apartment. The service was excellent, and the wine bar is a must. It’s a good alternative when you want something different from Gerry's. I forgot my speaker at checkout, and they mailed it to me. Top service 👍👍
