We were made to feel welcome by the whole Thaler family from the moment we arrived. Their hospitality was exceptional. The Obinghof farm was also a great base for hikes, with a striking view across nearly all of the Wildschönau valley. It’s a certified organic farm with dairy cows grazing on the alpine pastures in summer, as well as pigs and a friendly cat. We stayed for five nights for the first time during the 2025 cattle drive. Our first-floor apartment had everything we needed, and the house was exceptionally clean. It’s a relaxed, peaceful place with the feel of a traditional alpine farm, just right for unwinding. We’ll definitely return.

We’d happily stay again. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, and the spacious apartment has everything you need. It’s in a lovely setting, with shops and the ski area a short distance away.

The food was good and so was the surrounding area, but I didn’t enjoy the stay. The hostess wasn’t nice, and you couldn’t eat in the hotel in the evening. We were also told not to wear snow boots. The place felt very old-fashioned, the shower was terrible, and the bed was very small.

The apartments are spacious, nicely equipped, and reasonably priced. You need to drive 5-15 km to get to the ski slopes. The road up is a local uphill road, so chains or a 4x4 are needed.

We first met 12 years ago, and we’ve kept thinking about the place ever since. The scenery, nature, and landlords are fantastic. We’re regular guests now. A big thank you to the Thaler family!
