Gasthof-Pension Ölberger

The view of the night sky from the hotel was quite an experience, since it’s a little way out of town. We stayed here to watch the F1 race in Spielberg, and although some reviews had made me skeptical, the stay was quite pleasant. The rooms weren’t the best, but they weren’t bad either.

We were satisfied with our one-night stop on the way to Italy. The room was cozy and clean, the restaurant food was good, and the views were beautiful. The price and quality were excellent.

The nature around the hotel is beautiful, and the location works well for visiting RedBull ring. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the towels were clean too, though there was no shampoo or soap in the toilet. The staff were friendly, but one woman seemed to cover reception and the restaurant. Breakfast was average. Some guys arrived at 22h, but nobody was there to check them in.

The room was clean but stuffy, and this might be okay for a stopover, though in our opinion it’s not a great place to stay with dogs. The listing mentions a garden, but it’s really a small area with a children’s slide and swing. We left after resting because the whole atmosphere felt off. It could have been the excessive heat, just an off day. The hostess, the elderly mother, and cook, was sweet and smiled a lot, but the other hostess seemed sad and grumpy. She complained about guests to friends who had come for a meal.
