The heating never got better during our stay, and the apartment was uncomfortably cold from the moment we arrived. The radiators were on but barely warm. That evening we told the host we were travelling with our 2-year-old child and needed help because the place was too cold, but got no response. Someone came the next day to check the heating, said they weren’t an engineer and couldn’t fix it, and we spent another cold night. The following morning there was no hot water before skiing, which delayed our start. We asked for a portable heater to keep our son warm, but didn’t get one. After we got home, I made a complaint. Several days later the company offered £22.90 back, just 3.4% of what we paid via Expedia. We said that wasn’t satisfactory given the conditions and our child being cold, but they wouldn’t offer more. Later they said some radiators had worked and that the temperature hadn’t dropped below 19°C. We don’t believe that’s accurate: none of the radiators felt warm, and the thermometer reading was only brought up after the stay, so we couldn’t verify it. I wouldn’t recommend this apartment, The Penthouse, or the company to anyone expecting a warm, comfortable base after a day on the mountain or for a ski trip.

The location was really good, and the rooms were nice, clean and had what we needed for a ski trip. The service, though, wasn’t good. There was just one keycard for a room of five. On our last day we had to leave at 10, but around 8.30 the cleaning staff came into the apartment while we were packing, and some of us were still taking a shower. Ridiculous!

The apartment didn’t seem worth 730€ for 3 nights. I booked a large double bed, but found 2 single beds pushed together. It was dirty, with a pill under the table left by previous residents, luckily the dog didn’t find it. There were spiders in the room and bathroom, shown in the photo. The view was of an inner courtyard and a shabby house, with only the mountain tops visible, despite it being advertised as a view. The equipment list and photo showed Bosh, but what was there was Chinese crap that looked like it had been bought 5 years ago. The Booking renovation and photos also seemed at least 5 years old.

We rented three apartments right in the city center, and they were lovely. The gondola and bus station are just a 5-minute walk away. The sofa beds were new and comfortable, and looked like regular beds. Contact with the landlord was excellent too. They do everything they can to make your stay pleasant, and you can always reach them on WhatsApp for help.
