The location right in the centre of town is excellent. The rooms, including the ones called superior, are very basic and housekeeping wasn’t good. Tea and coffee weren’t replenished, mugs were left unwashed, and clean towels were dumped in a heap on the floor. The hotel was due to close soon after our visit, so I hope they get a chance to refurbish and update it.

The location is good, and the restaurant downstairs was nice, with good service there. That was the one star I gave for service. The rest was poor: there was no soundproofing, and with children in the room above us we got no rest during our two-night stay. We asked to change rooms, but the new room had even more children, three instead of two. There was mold in the bathroom, the amenities were basic, and breakfast was poor.

The central location and front desk service were clear pluses. The rooms and facilities were satisfactory.

The free sauna and jacuzzi come with a view, and breakfast is included. I’d recommend the omelette. Some staff don’t speak much English, but we managed to order without any trouble. It’s kid friendly, though lots of children running up and down the stairs made noise because the rooms aren’t soundproof. The bathroom door slides, and it could be quite hard to close fully at times. Remember to bring a swimsuit.

A decent mid-range hotel in the heart of Zell am see. The rooms were clean and well serviced, breakfast was just good, and most of the staff were friendly. My one complaint is the lift: it’s locked after 10 pm, so you have to use the stairs whether you’re able to or not, which is rough after a long day out.
