We booked through booking.com, where the apartment was listed as dog friendly. They asked for my credit card details upfront and said the booking was non-refundable, which was fine. Then they told us dogs weren't allowed in that apartment and offered a bigger, more expensive one instead. We declined, and they charged a hefty cancellation fee straight to my account without my consent, using the card details they already had. It took around two months and ten long calls to booking.com to get my money back. Each time, they told booking.com that we'd broken the cancellation policy, even though they were the ones who cancelled on us. I can imagine other people in the same situation giving up and the money being kept. Be careful with these scammers!

Angelika, the owner, welcomed us and took such warm care of us. The guesthouse is right in central Zell am See, so getting around on foot is easy. Our apartment was spotless and incredibly spacious, with comfortable furnishings, a well-equipped kitchen, a shower and bathtub, and even two toilets. Many thanks!

Apartment Ina was so spacious for the four of us, and we all slept wonderfully in the comfortable beds. The location is superb, right in the heart of Zell am See, by the lake and next to the gondola. We had a fantastic stay. Thanks to our lovely hostess, we'll be back! 🥰

The hosts were nice, but I don't think I'd return. The apartments are cheap, though not well equipped: there were only tiny cups and no whisk, for example. It might have been worth four stars if the walls weren't covered in the sort of growth you get from too much humidity.
