The free summer card was fantastic, with too much included to list, and no charge. We stayed in Dalarna, an immaculately clean, well-furnished apartment that sleeps six. There’s also free use of a washing machine on the ground floor. It’s in south Zell am See, but very peaceful, and there’s a bus stop a few minutes’ walk away in either direction for reaching the lovely sights. From the kitchen and bedroom there are gorgeous views of the Alps and cable car. We booked direct, and Lars was extremely helpful by email, sharing useful information before we arrived. He was very kind about check-in and check-out times, and booking direct got us the best price. The supermarket and a gorgeous little bakery are less than a 10-minute walk away.

The terrace has lovely views, and the location made it easy to get to the bus, lake, tennis courts and a lovely bakery. Inside, the apartment was spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed. Lars was really welcoming and helpful.

The landlord was attentive and even brought extra dishwasher tabs when I asked. There was good storage for ski gear and a laundry room, and the place was very clean. We also had fantastic mountain views from both the kitchen and bedroom windows.

We stayed four nights in May with our family of five, and the three bedrooms worked perfectly for us. The kids enjoyed the shared garden play area with its swing and slide, and the balcony looked out toward the mountains. The rooms were clean and pleasant, and the kitchen and bathroom were well equipped. There are washing and drying machines in the laundry room. By car, the location is central, and Zell am See centre is only 1.5 km away.

We travelled all the way from South Africa and had a lovely time in Zell Am See, especially for skiing. Lars was a wonderful host, sharing lots of useful information and letting us use extra amenities. We hope to come back.
