Hotel Pinzgauerhof by Alpeffect Hotels

The meals were a real highlight of our ski trip with my son. Half board gave us a great breakfast and dinner, with plenty to choose from and everything I tried tasting very good. Our room was clean and comfortable, and check-in was straightforward. The staff were friendly and helpful too. Parking is quite a walk from the hotel, though it worked out fine because there’s a ski room and the lift is nearby. One thing to know: the elevator only reaches the third floor. We were on the fourth and managed fine, but anyone who struggles with stairs should tell the hotel ahead of time. We had a great trip together, and I’d like to bring my wife back in summer for the local activities.

The food choices were limited, but everything we tried was delicious. Our room was on the older side, though having a balcony made up for that quite a bit. The hotel is right by the train station, and travel is free with the Sommercard included in the stay.

Everyone on the hotel staff was so helpful, especially Mads from the restaurant, and we were very happy with them. The hotel is handy for the ski bus, and our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the food as well.

With the guest card, we could travel all over, and most of it was free. Thanks to the hotel and Salzburg Land for that. I’d make the card compulsory, since it could mean fewer cars and less traffic and pollution. We’d gladly return. Parking is limited, though we found free spaces in Schüttdorf by the football pitch on Sportplatzstrasse, about a kilometre away. The church is very close and its bells are loud. They ring until 9 pm, so sleeping in is possible only until 7 am. In July 2025, the hotel was Danish-owned and had Hungarian staff.
