Seehotel Bellevue

The hotel is outstanding in many ways, but the refrigerator situation is a major drawback, especially if you’re staying more than two days. I complained to management and was given a second room, but neither room’s refrigerator worked, no matter how long the key card was in the slot that switches on the room’s electricity. One guest had brought a portable refrigerator, and it seemed he knew about this problem from a previous stay, though I didn’t ask him to confirm. If the refrigerators don’t work, they shouldn’t be advertised as an amenity. Parking is free but first come, first served, with only about 16 to 20 spaces, depending on how tightly or riskily people park. I actually prayed I’d have a space when I got back late at night, and God didn’t disappoint. There’s no breakfast, lunch, or dinner service, no on-site service person, no bar, and no ice. The room has only one outlet by the bed for two devices. The hotel feels like a gold ring in a pig’s snout.

A peaceful atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and everything within easy reach made this a perfect place to relax and enjoy Zell am See. Seehotel Bellevue has stunning views and an amazing lakeside location.

We had a good stay, and the view from the room was the highlight. Breakfast was good too, with helpful staff. The hotel is still quite new, but much of it seems to have been left as it is, with almost no maintenance and no physical receptionist. I hope they give it more attention over time.

The room had spiders crawling on the walls, and the hallway was full of dead bugs. The pillows and blankets came without covers and smelled really bad. Reception isn’t staffed, and when we had trouble checking in, they didn’t answer right away. It took at least 30 minutes to get a response. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere clean and comfortable.
