Der Schuetthof

The location was great, very close to the ski lift, but the hotel itself felt really outdated and the rooms were small. The buffet was awful, with everything covered in butter. After four nights, a lot of people in our group got food poisoning. Staff weren't kind, and most of the time they weren't around when we needed them.

The Summer Card was a real treat, with free entry to lots of sights in the region, including cable cars, trains and boat trips. The sauna facilities were very good, although they closed too early. Our room was spacious and had a good view, but at this price I expected a minibar, tea and coffee facilities, and blackout curtains.

The rooms were so cramped that you could barely move in the shower. We faced an après-ski bar and heard noise until 1 a.m. The food was disappointing, with a mediocre buffet, though breakfast was decent. The sauna and wellness facilities at the neighboring hotel cost quite a bit extra, and the ski cellar had only four seats, so there was always a wait. Worst hotel I've stayed at in 15 years of skiing.

At least the rooms were clean, but this was one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. It felt like they were trying to cut costs on everything. The bathroom fan only ran for five minutes before stopping, so you had to press the switch again. The extra bed we ordered was awful. Breakfast was good, but the food selection seemed much the same every day. There was no AC, tissues, basket, refrigerator or room phone to call reception.
