The place is cheap, but the problems make it not worth it. My room was barely clean, with rubbish everywhere and a smell that got worse each day. There was mold everywhere, even on the beds under the sheets, and I saw that sometimes the sheets weren't changed. The shower head was broken, the shower and sink didn't work properly, the floor was disgusting, and regular cleaning wasn't happening. The kitchen was small, dirty, broken, and unsafe. The microwave was the only thing that worked. The sink was poorly maintained and cleaned, and they provided dishwasher liquid instead of proper hand soap. The woman running the place was grumpy and touchy, blamed others for problems she couldn't manage herself, and opened the office late. She was lazy about cleaning despite being paid and getting free accommodation. She complained about guests behind their backs, and sometimes got drunk and rude to them. I think anyone giving this place a high rating must be getting bribed. I wouldn't pay even $5, but see for yourself.

I've stayed in hostels for three years and never seen anything like this. It felt like being in prison. The room was shockingly dirty, with Maccas paper under the bed and a broken bed. There was hair in the bathroom, and nothing in the hostel seemed clean. The other people there seemed really weird. The host was never around, so any problem couldn't be sorted out right away. If you go, good luck.

We stayed for one night and were relieved nothing was stolen. The room door was broken, so we couldn't lock it. The place was filthy and run down, and the people staying there seemed weird. We didn't want to use the shower, kitchen, or bathroom because they were so dirty. It'll be a memorable story, but we'll never stay there again or recommend it to anyone. 🌻

It's right in town on Hindley Street, which is the one real advantage. Otherwise, this is a very low budget place for people with low expectations, and it doesn't feel cosy or clean.

After paying for six nights, we were already asking for a refund and packing the next day. Another guest told us their belongings had been stolen, which made us wonder how strangers could get into rooms while people were sleeping or out. The night before, someone tried our door while we were asleep, but our lock kept them out. We saw someone running down the stairs when we checked, though we couldn't catch them. We'd waited more than three hours for someone to arrive and assign us a room because no staff were there when we got to the hotel. Our room looked nothing like the online photos. We also saw people acting suspiciously, though we tried to stay positive at first. The whole experience was extremely negative. The atmosphere felt bad, and the other guests seemed problematic. I don't recommend this hotel, and anyone considering it for a vacation should think carefully.
