Atlantic Tower Motor Inn

The room was a letdown: bathroom ceiling paint was peeling, the air conditioner dripped onto the carpet, the fridge buzzed constantly, and the first-floor windows were filthy. We stayed six days and had to ask about room service after five; the attendant said we needed to request it. Even after my husband put a sign on the door asking for the room to be done, someone removed it. Glenelg is very convenient from here, and free onsite parking was a bonus. The man at reception was polite when he was there, but the desk was usually unattended. I wouldn't recommend it.

We came from the Gold Coast and had booked a balcony room, but were first given one without a balcony. After we complained, we eventually got the room we had booked. Two days later, we saw a woman at reception struggling to control a vicious dog wearing a muzzle. It shouldn't have been allowed in the motel, especially in room 100 if you're allergic to dogs. The room service lady was rude, and the extra pillows we asked for never arrived. Not a good experience.

Nothing fancy, but it's clean and comfortable, and the price is fair for the area. It's my usual choice in Adelaide, handy for the beach, restaurants, and airport.

The circular tower is a fun design, and there were plenty of tourist information pamphlets for guests. We had a clean room with everything we needed, plus a balcony with a great view and fresh air. The person at the front desk was friendly and helpful. It's a great base for exploring Glenelg, with the beach and lots of places to eat an easy walk away. There was also a temporary bus stop right outside the tower, though I'm not sure if it's normally there, with a service into the city.
