The location is the main plus, and there’s free parking at the back, though spaces are small and tight, and it’s first come, first served. The rooms are fine for a short stay, but don’t expect much. Our family room had one bathroom with no lock on the door. When we arrived, there was no hot water after a power outage, and staff hadn’t reset the boiler. We’d booked to have the room made up, but it wasn’t done one day when we returned. It makes me think staff and management lack strong processes. I also wouldn’t recommend 'Edi's Kitchen', the restaurant attached to the hotel. It isn’t part of Breakfree, but it detracts from the experience and the options under one roof. Service was poor and basic hospitality skills were lacking. For a three-star hotel, it’s okay. Overall, three stars.

The room had the basics we needed, including a fridge, kettle, microwave, and small table, and thankfully the shower had good water pressure. We booked a double room for me and my children while visiting family in Adelaide during the very busy period in April 2026. Before our stay, I got a call to confirm the number of beds and whether we needed a cot for the baby. The location and service were great, and the woman at check-in let us in early because the room was ready. The room looked very dated, with mismatched decor, and the mattresses were hard and lumpy, like they hadn’t been replaced in years. It was quiet for most of our week, apart from Friday and Saturday night, which is to be expected. It might be okay if you’re on a tight budget, but at the price we paid it wasn’t even cheap.

The location was the best part, but I wouldn’t stay here again. I could hear guests in nearby rooms, which made it hard to rest. The room was dated and not especially clean. The couch was stained and worn, there were cigarette butts left behind when we arrived, and the fridge froze all my food, so it wasn’t useful for storing things properly. When I reported the butts and asked for them to be cleaned up, it wasn’t handled promptly. There was no body wash in the shower either, and reception wasn’t very helpful when I called. A cleaner eventually came and interrupted my rest, then had to come back several times after forgetting her keys. The café was disappointing too. I waited about 10 minutes without anyone serving me and left. Another time, the waiter didn’t write down our order, and several items were forgotten. The hotel needs better cleanliness, updates, and customer service. The location is excellent, but the rest of the stay didn’t meet expectations.

The staff at Econolodge were very accommodating. A third party made a mistake and my booking hadn’t gone through, but they sorted it out and upgraded my room for free. Breakfast options were delicious and very reasonably priced. I was very happy with my stay.

The room was okay for what we paid, but you do get what you pay for. A blanket in the cupboard had a disgusting substance on it. At night, the window looked like a mirror from inside, but people outside could see in. The balcony door latch was broken, so it swung open several times in the middle of the night. The customer service, though, was the best I’ve ever had, especially at a hotel. Every receptionist was friendly and really helpful with recommendations for things to do and getting around.
