The atmosphere was wonderful, with people from all over the world mixing together. The location is excellent, just a 2-3 minute walk from the beach and bars. Tell Tony (the owner) you support Celtic and you'll get along great.

The hostel is in a perfect spot, just around the corner from the beach. Glenelg is beautiful, and getting into the CBD takes only a 25-minute tram ride. The showers were clean and worked well, and the rooms were clean too, with quite comfy single beds and no bunks. The only downside was Wi-Fi that didn't reach the bedroom. I had to use it in the living room, but it was free and worked well. Definitely worth staying here if you want to be in this area.

The beach is really close, so the location is perfect. But the dorm had only about two power sockets for five people, which was ridiculous. You also had to go outside to reach the bathroom, and its timer-controlled light kept going off, so I had to leave the shower to turn it back on. Not great overall.

Another guest kicked me in the back and arm five times. Parking was okay, but the bed was too hard, and the room got stifling at night because the fan was off. I was abused if I tried turning it on. Breakfast was two spreads and three types of toast. It was okay for two nights, but I wouldn't stay long term unless I had a room of my own.

The location was good, and there are stretches when you can find free parking on the surrounding streets. The facilities seemed fine and clean. The kitchen had plenty of crockery, there was a washing line and pay-as-you-go machines, and there were two showers on my floor, the third. I didn't use them, but they looked okay. My bed was comfortable and linen was supplied, though not a towel. There was no hand towel or dryer in the toilet. The lounge could use a couple more sofas, since it had only two and a vinyl bench. The woman who checked me in seemed to have no interest in showing me anything, including the back stairs used to reach the rooms at night, the kitchen or other facilities. She could use a bit of an attitude adjustment. The woman who checked me out was nicer. I was told that it's an international hostel and locals can't stay, but they'd make an exception this time because I lived 70 minutes away, not in Adelaide itself. Glenelg has plenty of beach and good cheap food.
