Old Chaff Mill Retreat - - luxury vineyard accommodation

We came back to the millery in Nov 2025 after first staying there in 2022, because we loved it so much. The property and location are lovely, and the thoughtful extras make it feel special. The house is beautiful, with distinctive furnishings, bedding, towels, bathroom tiles and light fittings. My husband especially enjoyed the record collection, and the wood fire place was welcome in the cooler weather. It’s a fantastic place to stay in this part of beautiful South Australia.

Richard and Bernice made our son’s wedding weekend really special. The groom and his groomsmen got ready at the Retreat, and the Bride and Groom had some lovely photos taken in the gardens. We stayed in both the Granary and the Millery over the week-end. The accommodation is magnificent, with outstanding attention to detail, and the hosts are wonderful. The Old Chaff Mill Retreat is a delight, whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply relaxing and enjoying life. We loved it and thoroughly recommend it.

We stayed four days and have already visited again. The hosts are delightful, and Richard gave us a lovely welcome. Bernice’s homemade jams, cold platter and sourdough loaf were delicious, and the good quality coffee beans came with a grinder. The property is beautifully designed and detailed throughout. There’s a long antique bath outside, with old Indian temple doors, high end toiletries, and a private, manicured garden. The estate vineyards surround the property. We’ll come again!

A perfect place to unwind among the vines and bird life. Richard and Bernice are wonderful hosts and have thought of everything for comfort. The welcome platter, homemade jam and olive oil were lovely touches. The accommodation is extraordinary, with so much attention to detail. Thanks for a perfect stay.
