Those gardens and the church itself made this one of the most memorable, beautiful places we’ve stayed. I’ve wanted to sleep in a converted church for as long as I can remember, so being there felt like a dream. The architecture is fabulous, and Karen was a wonderful host. We used Karen’s lovely home, “the church,” as our base for three nights exploring the Barossa Valley and had a great stay. She met us when we arrived and took time to show us around. There were breakfast supplies, treats, and lots of thoughtful little touches, with five star service throughout. We’ll see you next time we’re in the area.

We’ll definitely come back. The place was tidy, clean, and nicely presented, and Karen was fantastic to deal with. We booked directly with her instead of through an online booking service, and she went above and beyond for us. It’s near the local pubs and Main Street, with Tanunda about a 20 minute drive away.

Karen kindly let us book the place for the weekend, giving my daughter and her bridesmaids a lovely spot to spend time together. It was a really special place for my daughter to get ready for her wedding. What a beautiful little place to spend the weekend.

We’ll definitely return. The owner was an amazing, friendly, and helpful host, and Gawler’s facilities are close by, with the Barossa and surrounding area just a short drive away. We loved the warm, comfortable, clean place, especially the modern kitchen that still fits the character of the original building. Highly recommend.
