The Farm Willunga

We were hoping for a great meal, especially since my partner had visited with friends before and waited over an hour for food that she said was worth it. We came back together for a rare lunch or late breakfast on Friday 19/9 while our boy was away at school camp. Sadly, it really wasn't great, and unless things change, we won't be back. The service was lovely and the property itself is lovely, but there were tools and bits and pieces on unused tables, apparently from works or cleaning, and it took away from the charm. In this wonderful old building there were cobwebs, dead insects, spiders in the corners, and thick dust on the fan that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. It was cool with a nice breeze through the large barn doors, so we didn't need to use the fan. The food came in a normal amount of time, enough to think it had been freshly made, but most of my meal was inedible. My partner's rosti was cold, hard, and like a leather boot; her eggs were way under-poached. My meal was cold throughout, though the eggs and bacon were nice. The toast with each egg was tiny, and the bread was two different types, not sure why. The beans seemed microwaved, only just warm in the middle and really cold on the outside. My partner gave feedback and they refunded her $8, which we appreciated. The food was honestly and unfortunately terrible. We're locals and support locals, and the owners are welcome to get in touch if they think it was a one-off bad day.
