There are great views and interesting artworks along this wide, easy walking route, with plenty of stops along the way. The surface is nonslip, and it's a safe place to walk and take photos. A real upgrade for the area, well worth the walk.

The views over the Gulf St Vincent are amazing, with colourful rock formations on the other side of the path. It's accessible for all abilities and a lovely place to walk or relax. Solar lights illuminate it after sunset. The Port Noarlunga board walk is the Witton Bluff Base Trail, a 1.1 km shared path and boardwalk, 3 meters wide, linking Port Noarlunga with Christies Beach. It's part of the larger Coast Park Path. The first stage opened in December 2024, and it was completed in September 2025. Onkaparinga Council and the state government have done a great job.

The boardwalk is beautiful and a huge benefit to the community, but I've got a gripe as a returning expat and Port Noarlunga local. The walkway is wonderful, though the night views of the water and the moon river are disappointing. The lights are excessively bright, tightly spaced, and overly abundant along the seaward side. They blind you and wipe out any chance of stargazing over the gulf. It's a shame this wasn't considered in the planning. Putting the lights on the landward side and a little higher would have solved the problem, reduced likely vandalism, and cut ongoing maintenance costs. Council seems not to have considered details like this while spending millions.
