1770 Getaway

The staff were warm and welcoming, and everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out. We found the villa clean, comfortable and nicely presented, with what we needed for a relaxing break. The peaceful setting and handy location made it easy to enjoy the 1770 area. We’d gladly return and recommend it to anyone after a relaxing escape.

We’d love to come back, despite the long journey from the UK. The family who run 1770 Getaway villas have clearly put a lot of care into the place. It’s set in a lovely tropical garden, about five minutes from Agnes Water. The villas are comfortable, with a kitchen, lounge, great shower, very comfy bed, veranda and BBQ, a lovely spot to unwind. Agnes Water itself is a beautiful, unspoilt place, well located for its beaches and the Southern Barrier Reef islands. There’s an excellent caravan on site for morning coffee and breakfast, plus a whole food organic market on Thursdays that guests and tourists visit.

The magnesium pool was crystal clear and fresh, like your favourite swimming hole after heavy rain has filled it again. The villas are tucked into a subtropical garden, feel more private than we expected, and are modern and beautifully styled. The kitchen is better than my nana’s, and there’s a Webber on the deck with outdoor furniture that’s easy to set up for relaxing. There’s an on-site coffee van and weekly organic markets. You can walk to the beach, drive two minutes into Agnes Water, and get to 1770 in about two and a half. We had an outstanding three-night getaway. A+ all round, we’ll be back.

We spent three and a half weeks here as a family of four and felt completely at home. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating, which made the stay special. Our villa was lovely and comfortable, and the grounds and pool were immaculate and very well cared for. We loved every part of the holiday, couldn’t fault anything, and will definitely return.
