The pictures online gave a misleading impression. Emu ground floor apartment was adequate for our two nights, but I wouldn’t recommend it. It felt tired and needed a proper clean and spruce up. The old sofa was uncomfortable and hard to get up from, and it needed a good vacuum and clean. The TV remote was missing at first, though a replacement arrived the next day. The light by the back door didn’t work, and there was just one facecloth for three people and one spare blanket.

The apartment was clean and well kept, with a fully equipped kitchenette and laundry room. The washing machine, laundry pods, iron, ironing board, broom and dustpan were all there. It was furnished well enough that we only needed our luggage, and it came with hand soap and bath towels, though no toothbrush or toothpaste. The balcony had great views, and the insulation kept us comfortable during our late May to early June 2023 winter stay. The bathroom had heater lights and plenty of hot water for showers. Two things I’d suggest: kitchen scissors and a handheld shower.

We had a great first family holiday here. There was room to spread out all our baby gear and stay comfortable, and the beds were comfy. The full kitchen made eating in easy, while the central spot put us close to the fun. Drive-through coffee was so nearby that we could grab one on the way to whale watching. We’d definitely come back.

Getting in and out was easy, and the town centre is only a couple of minutes away by car. The apartment had most conveniences, though it didn’t have a dishwasher.

It was good value for a place that fits four, and I’d happily stay again. The modern apartment was clean and had excellent facilities. York Street was about a ten minute walk away, and the main attractions were an easy drive.
