Albury Central Motel

I was disappointed by the dirty room and found drug paraphernalia in the pot plant outside my door. I hear they’re doing a remodel, so hopefully things improve.

My travelling companions booked this place without checking the reviews first. The location is good, though there’s another three-star motel right across the road. My parents had to clean their own room, especially the bathroom, and deal with an unpleasant smell that lingered. Other guests also told staff in the morning that the rooms weren’t clean. I hope they make improvements.

We cancelled a two-room booking just 20 minutes after making it, but the owners went back on a promise to refund us, saying it was non-refundable. That wasn’t clear when we booked. After seeing several reviews about bed bugs being widespread there, we were almost relieved we hadn’t stayed. I’ve visited Albury many times and stayed at other hotels without trouble. This was the only bad experience I’ve had.

We managed to sleep there for one night, so it was okay. The beds were oddly soft, and in our room, number 6, there was a really revolting smell around the corner behind the door.
