The farm views were lovely, and even on a summer day at 40C we stayed perfectly cool. The kids also loved seeing the sheep flock visit to graze each day. The spacious layout gave our family plenty of room, and the kitchen was fully equipped, with the AGA cooker at its centre. It’s luxuriously fitted out, balancing old-time charm with modern comfort. Easily the best accommodation we’ve stayed at. We’ll return in winter.

The Angas family were such welcoming, generous hosts, and a delight to sit and talk with. JHA is a wonderfully relaxing, unique escape in the Barossa Valley. You wake in a luxuriously transformed stone cottage to incredible views across Hutton Vale property. There’s delicious farm-grown produce available for your supplies, and be sure to enjoy the complimentary tasting of the estate-grown, single-vineyard wines. Highly recommend.

We came in winter and spent cosy evenings by the wood-burning fire, looking out across the lush green rolling hills of the Eden Valley. The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with everything we needed, and it was lovely to hide away with local Barossa produce and wine. It felt like home away from home, with a bit more luxury. A perfect getaway that blends South Australian history with modern conveniences. We were there for a special occasion and hope to make it back every year. The Angas family were lovely hosts.

The outdoor shower is quite an experience, and the fire must be wonderful in winter. The farm and vineyard views are unsurpassed, and the place is wonderfully luxurious and peaceful. They’ve thought of everything, from kitchen utensils and toiletries to candles, and the wines are divine. We’ll definitely be back.

At JHA, you can leave the blinds open and wake to a huge sunrise and the sound of sheep. It’s warm, very comfortable and generously appointed, with a rocking vinyl collection. Set in the pasture, it’s a modern addition to an old stone silage store. Our girls loved the peaceful setting and animals. Local produce is provided, including the succulent, spicy and seamless Huttonvale cuvées. We cooked eggs and bacon on the Aga in the morning, then Huttonvale lamb chops on the BBQ that evening, with the oops onion and mint chutney. Zip across the paddocks for a chat and a lingering Huttonvale wine tasting with the delightful Angas clan.
