Our first impression came in the first half hour: the fridge and cutlery were dirty, the bath was sandy, the sink was cracked, and there were spider webs everywhere and dust on the windowsills. There’s no privacy, but pulling the blinds blocks the light. We only got one key, there’s no wardrobe, and the cars and voices were really noisy. We hoped it wouldn’t get worse. It did. We found plates with food still on them and greasy glasses.

The location was great, but that was the only positive. The linen was filthy and stained, and the bathroom was dirty. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. It was so noisy, with constant cars coming into the driveway and shining their lights into the bedroom, plus loud music from the juice bar every morning starting at 7am. There was no clothes horse or dustpan, but we were expected to sweep before leaving.
