There were fewer deer than two years ago, about 10 instead of more than 25. They’re fed just once a day at 9am, not twice as advertised, and only get one small bowl of grain pellets. You feed them by putting your hand through the gate. The yard is no longer open to visitors, so you can’t walk in or get information about the deer for children and families. One family came from Gunnedah the previous evening expecting a happy deer experience. It’s a shame the place has slipped in this way. The pool wasn’t available in February. In the room, the bathroom tap was very loose, and there was only one towel per person, one bowl, and one plate. The breakfast room shut promptly at 8am. There was nobody to ask for help except the room attendant, who was kind and offered milk and juice.

The staff were so lovely and helpful. Since I’m French, they even helped me book my bus ticket, and I got to feed the deer. I also used the pool while waiting for my taxi after checkout. Deerpark is just outside town, and my room was spacious and clean. I stayed one night and have nothing to complain about. Thank you so much, I really recommend it. The people were so enthusiastic and kind.

It was just as advertised, clean and tidy, with really helpful staff. Getting there was easy, and the after-hours check-in was flexible. The deer are gorgeous and steal the show, you can see them right from your front door.

After having a regular booking every fortnight for a year, I got the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The barely legible person at reception cancelled my reservation for a guest paying more. I rate this motel minus 2 out of 5. Do not book here.

It’s a cheaper option, so I guess you can’t complain too much about the dated furniture and facilities, or the broken light fittings. I’ve stayed many times because it’s good value for money. There’s parking right by the door, and it’s far enough out of town to be quiet. Rooms at the back are quieter still, since they’re further from the road. I’d give it 3.5 out of 5.
