Darlington Beach Resort

We stayed for seven nights from late October to early November 2025, on an ensuite site. There was lots of room to spread out, and the sites were the biggest ensuite sites I’ve seen, with picnic tables included. The ensuite itself was a little dated, but spacious and worked well. The park is leafy and shady, and the swimming pools were fantastic. We made lots of use of the splash park and water slides. The main downside was that some facilities for kids were closed, including the pump track, BMX track and jumping pillow.

The staff were friendly and so helpful. They gave us a few milkshakes and coffees for free, put on a movie just for the two of us, and even brought our pizza to the movie theatre. We spent eight nights in March 2025, around the time of Cyclone Alfred, and saw plenty of animals. There were lots of kangaroos around for a pat, plus two Rainbow Lorikeets that I named Jerry and Cruncher. They came to our palm bill every day, and we got to feed them and have them on my arms. A Diamond Python also climbed up our door at 6 am. The pool and waterslides were good, and we had the place almost to ourselves most of the time. There isn’t much nearby and the shops are about 15 minutes away, but that wasn’t a real problem for us. It’s great for a relaxing weekend. We’d love to return and recommend it to anyone!

We had a very happy stay at Darlington Beach. The powered sites are really large, so you’re not packed in next to each other, and the amenities were clean. The park covers about 110 acres, I think. The big-screen TV outside the cafe was a bonus. I didn’t get time for a round of golf this visit, but I will next time. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend it to others.

This place has everything you could want in a holiday park. There are accommodation choices for couples, families or groups, from basic tent sites to chic, well-equipped cabins. There’s a huge range of things to do: pedal carts, electric bikes, archery, pools, a spa, a restaurant, outdoor movies on a large screen, an events room, table tennis, volleyball, tennis courts, BBQ facilities, a playground, water park, arcade games and a jumping pillow.
