The Summit B&B

It's a nice, clean house in a good location, but I'd choose somewhere else next time. The verandah view is mostly blocked by trees, with only a small distant glimpse of the water off to one side, and the decor is very plain. There's no air con in the bedroom, the shower head is poor, and wifi costs extra. Most windows don't have fly screens. The coin laundry is annoying, and you can't use it between 9-11am, which is inconvenient.

The house and grounds are lovely, clean and well maintained, in beautiful surroundings. Check-in and checkout were easy with a key code, and we had a designated free parking spot. Tea and coffee were provided in the shared kitchen, along with a few UHT milk capsules. Our main issue was how the rooms were advertised. The booking photos for Wallaby rm didn't show the room we got. We expected a two-room apartment, with a king bed in one room, two singles in the other, plus a lounge and kitchen. Instead, it was a small room with two singles pushed together and bunk beds. The listing did mention the bunk beds, so I partly missed that, but the photos didn't show them. The lounge and kitchen are separate from the room and shared with everyone staying there. Wifi costs $15 per day, and there were no mini shampoos or body wash, though soap was supplied. At $130 a night, it was well priced, and we enjoyed our stay. It is a lovely, well-maintained place and I might come back. I do think the room photos should show what you actually get, and it should be clear that this isn't a bed and breakfast. I'd recommend it to people who don't mind sharing.

Ulysses 1 bedroom apartment: I left a review on Wotif and was then told I'd either failed to read the description or was lying. I don't take kindly to being called a liar, so I had saved screenshots of the original listing before it was edited. I also have a screenshot of the request I sent through Wotif, which went unanswered. The apartment was advertised with air conditioning, but there wasn't any. My partner had just finished six rounds of chemo and needed somewhere cool and quiet to recover. Air con, along with the overall impression of the accommodation, helped convince us to book. It had been a rough year, and we decided to treat ourselves. We paid $540 for three nights, with no air con, $10 a day for internet, $5 per laundry load, and $1 for ten minutes in the dryer. The appliances were faulty and potentially dangerous. Internet plans are usually under $100 a month. I couldn't reply to the response on Wotif, so I'm posting the pictures here. I could have lived with all of that if I hadn't been made out to be a liar. I'd love even a partial refund, but since the owners deny the listing was misleading, I don't expect one.

Calling this a four-star place, let alone a bed and breakfast, is a joke. The family room is spacious, clean and has fans and a small TV. The common areas are also clean and roomy, and the pool is spacious. But the lighting is poor and most of the outdoor chairs are broken. There's no WiFi unless you pay, and no reception desk, so check your spam folder for the email with the room access code. There are no staff around to provide four-star service, and there isn't any breakfast.
