Don’t let the outside put you off, it looks a bit like Ramsey Street. Inside, the room was exceptionally clean and modern, and there’s a great view if you pick an ocean-view room or another option. It’s close to all amenities. Service was easy, too. No fuss at reception with credit cards, photo ID or forms. You just arrive, go into your room and relax. Free wifi details and the code are posted on all the service doors if you missed the email. Just so you know, the toilets and showers are communal, with separate male and female facilities and cubicles. It’s a gem of a spot, book asap.

The rooms are comfortable and have TVs. It seems to have been renovated recently, with nice decor and a fresh feel. You get the useful parts of a backpackers, like good value, a guest kitchen and common spaces, alongside hotel-like cleanliness and breakfast for all guests, with juices, spreads, yoghurt and more. Give it a go!

Good location and a clean room, but I found the stay disappointing and overpriced. The room was advertised as a Deluxe Suite, which was extremely misleading, for $433.36 for two nights. It was the smallest room we’ve ever experienced across all the places we’ve stayed in Australia. There was just one chair because the room wasn’t big enough for two. The flyscreen door had holes, so it didn’t do its job. We didn’t see a staff member during our two days there. Hardly a Deluxe Suite.

The bathroom was downstairs, along with a massive kitchen and dining area. We had a lovely room with a bar fridge, tea, coffee, kettle and TV, plus a balcony to relax on. It’s in a quiet area but close to everything. Would definitely stay again :)

We stayed for 2 nights over the Australia Day long weekend and loved the relaxed atmosphere, clean spaces and amenities. The continental breakfast and price were good, and the staff were welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommend.
