Best Western Ballina Island Motor Inn

Parking worked perfectly for our four-wheel-drive, right outside the unit, so there was no need to worry about a basement car park’s height. After a day at the beach, it was lovely to have delicious food onsite and relax by the fantastic pool, with comfortable sun lounges. Our room was clean, lovely and well appointed, a nice place to return to after exploring. The whole team greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. The location is ideal for a weekend in Ballina, with easy access to local attractions and the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and couldn’t recommend it more. Thanks to everyone, we can’t wait to return!

The $29 per person price wasn’t enough to make me want to return or recommend the venue. We went for the all-you-can-eat pasta and pizza with friends staying at the motel. There was a good variety, but everything was kept warm on plates or in a crock pot, sometimes for more than two hours. The spaghetti was dry, though its meatballs were tasty, and the potato and leek soup was too salty for me. I think some salad should be offered. We arrived at 6:30 pm. The apple crumble and custard had run out by the time I wanted dessert, and apparently none had been prepared to replace it. The alternative chocolate-filled donuts were hard as a rock, while the other choices were red jelly and chocolate mousse. They did bring out more custard when we asked.

The staff were lovely and friendly, and happy to help with any request. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, and the price was reasonable. We got a $100 restaurant voucher and enjoyed all-you-can-eat pizza and pasta, with a big selection of handmade pizzas. We’ll be back soon!

Aileen was heavily involved on the day, running around to make sure everything went smoothly, and deserves a special shout-out. Trudy and the young man who went all out with the lighting also deserve thanks. The staff were welcoming and excited for us, and nothing was too much trouble. We had our wedding reception in October, hosted by Byron Ballina Islander. They transformed the conference room with fairy lights and tasteful table arrangements, and went the extra mile. We had a wonderful wedding, thanks in part to how lovely and welcoming everyone was. We feel very lucky to have met this lovely group.
