Blackwattle at Barrington Tops

The accommodation had plenty of room, a comfortable bed, places to sit, a well-equipped kitchen, and a bath with a view. Getting there was easy with the helpful directions, and the leaflets were enough to help us find trails and things around the area. The best part was waking up to King parrots and seeing possums drop by in the evenings, it felt like being a Disney Princess. A recycling bin would be useful, and some of the non stick pans have clearly seen better days.

We had a great long weekend. The rooms were huge, with lots of living space, and everything we used was working properly. There was plenty of firewood, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We also made use of the pool, tennis, pool tables and bbqs.

The cabin’s location was nice, and the owner was keen to help when we reported that the fireplace lighter didn’t work. We were told someone would bring a replacement at 4.30pm, so we cut our day short to get back, but no one arrived until quarter to 6. The cabin itself wasn’t great. The bottled water left for us was unsealed, so it was probably just refilled tap water, and the bath window faced another cabin’s balcony. A screen might help. Sorry, but I wouldn’t book again.

It was a beautiful place for a family holiday, and we loved all the furry and feathered visitors. We can’t wait to return.
