We had plenty of room to enjoy meals on the large verandah, with lots of tables and chairs, and the well-equipped kitchen made preparing food easy. In the evening, the lounge room, with its beautiful art, was a lovely place to unwind. Our cars had their own parking bays, too. We stayed in Room No. 6, looking over the trees and lawn down to the creek. It was beautifully furnished, with a very comfortable king size bed and ensuite. The historic house was tastefully decorated for Christmas and sits in a picturesque setting overlooking the creek. It made our Christmas break extra special. I thoroughly recommend treating yourself to this unique experience.

I loved being able to stroll from the Bangalow Guesthouse to the shops, cafés and restaurants in Bangalow. Byron Bay’s beaches are only minutes away by car, too. The peaceful gardens made a lovely setting for a stay in this beautifully restored heritage property. My room was elegant and thoughtfully designed, with premium bedding and stylish finishes. The place has real historic character while still feeling luxurious and comfortable. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to come back.

A tranquil, idyllic spot by the river, surrounded by nature, with lively Bangalow just a short stroll away. The historic property is beautiful, and the furnishings and artwork are gorgeous. Standards are high throughout. The on-site staff were wonderful, and the remote customer service team was supportive too. A magnificent place to stay.

We were gifted two nights at Bangalow Guesthouse and stayed in a private cottage. It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The gardens are gorgeous, and the whole property feels green and calm. I noticed bats outside, which might bother some people, but they didn’t bother me. It was still much quieter than the trains and construction noise I hear every day in the city. The cottage was extremely clean, and the bed, linen and pillows felt lush and comfortable. It had air-conditioning, a small fridge, fresh plunge coffee, tea, milk and lovely spa-style hair and shower products. There was high-speed internet, so after a long day we connected our Fire Stick to the TV and watched movies in bed. We also loved sitting on the deck with morning coffee and listening to the birds. The guesthouse dates back to the early 1900s and has been lovingly restored. It offers boutique heritage-style rooms in the main Queenslander homestead, as well as private cottages and guest suites in the main house. There’s parking on site, and guests can use the main house, which has a shared kitchen, tea and coffee facilities, a stove and what you need to cook or relax outside your room. I was there with my husband for a relaxing escape. I only wish check-out were later. 10am felt rushed when we wanted a slow morning, especially since other places we’ve stayed often allow 11am or 12pm. Check-in starts at 2pm. Aside from that, Bangalow Guesthouse is a peaceful, elegant retreat, and we’d love to return for longer.

One night here wasn’t enough, what a spot. The guesthouse has been renovated to a high standard and has all the amenities you need, plus more. The real place is even better than the photos, which is unusual.
