Araluen Motor Lodge

We stayed upstairs in the Self-contained King Bed Suite, Room 1, and the balcony was a highlight. It’s private, with lovely views over the bay, water, and Corrigans Park. The king bed was enormous and so comfortable. You can open the curtains and sliding glass door from bed, look out at the view, and let in the sea breeze. I haven’t slept that well in years. The rain shower was wonderful too. The bedroom air-conditioner was great during a very hot weekend, though the kitchen and lounge got quite hot without one. It would be helpful to have air-conditioning there as well. The pool was clean and had tidy surrounds. The location is easy for walking to the beach, park, and Batehaven shops, including a Chemist, IGA, Newsagents, wood fired pizza place, and an excellent Bakery. The Bakery does the best Egg and Bacon Rolls, full breakfasts until 11am, and superb cakes, pastries, pies, sandwiches and rolls. Deb at reception was friendly, helpful, polite, and accommodating, and Parker the dog was lovely too. They made us feel welcome, like friends. We’ll 100% be back.

The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and I had a wonderful stay here with my friend and niece. The staff were friendly, attentive, and happy to suggest places to go and things to see nearby. I was very satisfied and would gladly return. Highly recommended.

Deb welcomed us warmly and remembered us from earlier visits. We had another great weekend at Araluen Motor Lodge in a king self-contained unit. I slept wonderfully in the very comfortable king bed, and the balcony overlooking the water is a lovely touch. I also spotted a small electric frypan with a lid, a nice extra we’ll use next time. The updated shower and vanity look great, and the makeup towel was a thoughtful detail. You can’t beat the location for cafes, shops, and the beach. We’ll be back.

We stayed for two days in a simple, nice room with a bed for me and my partner and a spare for our younger child. There was a wall-mounted TV, a decent air conditioner, bar fridge, kettle, microwave, and some tea cups. No plates or cutlery, but that was okay. The pool was nice on a hot day, and the venue was close enough to the beach and shops to be useful.
