We’ve been a few times and have had a great experience each visit. The kids’ portions are huge, which can be hit or miss at other places, and the food has been lovely. My five-year-old gave the playground two thumbs up. It’s covered, so bad weather doesn’t spoil her fun or my dinner. The staff all seemed lovely too.

I didn’t end up staying because I made a mistake in my reservation, but the woman I spoke with on the phone was incredibly understanding. She went out of her way to see what she could do and even called other places to check for availability. That’s first-class service. I don’t know her name, but she’s an asset to the Kelso. If that’s how they help a patron, I’ll definitely stay next time and recommend the place.

I was passing through hungry, saw their $15 lunch sign, and stopped. The pork roast was delicious and a huge serving. I’d definitely recommend it.

We went twice over Bathurst weekend, with five people in our group, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The salad was fresh with a nice dressing, the ribs were tasty and generous, and the chicken schnitzel was cooked perfectly with plenty of chips. Friendly staff and great pub food. They also have accommodation on site, which is handy if you’re staying there.

It’s disappointing that accommodation in Bathurst is nearly three times the usual price this weekend just because there’s a football game at Carrington Park. Events bring people into town, but hikes this steep feel excessive and unfair. It leaves a poor impression on people travelling to support the game and enjoy the weekend.
