Finches of Beechworth

The complimentary drinks and nibbles before dinner were a particular treat. Beechworth is foodie heaven, with lots of great places to eat just a few streets’ walk from Finches of Beechworth. Peter and Margot are fantastic hosts, and the accommodation is beautiful, luxurious country style. You’ll love this place. Definitely five stars from me.

Finches of Beechworth sits among beautifully manicured gardens, and our accommodation there was absolutely stunning. I was glad children weren’t allowed, as we enjoyed the quiet and sounds of nature, and could swim and relax by the pool without disruption. My partner and I also loved the food and wine: we had breakfast and an afternoon Tapas Plate. The whole stay was amazing, incredibly relaxing and great value for money. Five-star service, facilities, food, wine and experience. I’d highly recommend Finches of Beechworth.

The food was a lovely surprise, fresh ingredients sourced locally, and we enjoyed drinking local wine on our private balcony overlooking half an acre of beautiful gardens. We also spent the morning by the pool and rode the bikes they provided around historic Beechworth. I’d planned the weekend at Finches of Beechworth as an anniversary surprise for my partner, and it turned out to be a perfect romantic escape. She was over the moon with my choice. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone after a relaxing, romantic break.

Breakfast was a highlight, especially the eggs, which may be the best I’ve ever had. The accommodation was sumptuous, and the house has been renovated and decorated so beautifully that it brought back childhood memories. Margo and Peter were genial hosts, handling meal bookings and ghost tours and sharing local history and sightseeing tips while still giving us space. From the moment I arrived, I felt at home, and by the time I left, I felt as if I’d known them all my life. I couldn’t recommend it more. If I moved to the area, I’d consider moving in!
